Assistant or Lead Teacher Job

Status Part-Time, Non-Exempt

This highly important role supports the Executive Director by delivering instruction with the integrity of a high quality Montessori school. This is a strictly onsite position.

The Lead Teacher provides an organized working environment, conducive to the development of students, using the Montessori Method. The Lead Teacher, while performing onsite duties as Lead, is responsible for all aspects of the classroom: classroom management, outdoor education, lesson planning, record-keeping, progress reporting, and student and parent interactions. The Lead Teacher provides ongoing support and engagement with students in creating and maintaining a nondiscriminatory, all-inclusive program with high academic standards and a commitment to social and emotional learning and growth. They maintain and foster constructive interactions with students and parents. The Lead teacher participates in staff meetings and will periodically attend school functions and events after regular school hours. Throughout the school, the Lead Teacher will demonstrate grace and courtesy.

Qualifications: Preschool/Early Childhood Lead Certified; Or two (2) years of experience in child development or preschool setting. Other combinations of experience and education that meet the minimum requirements may be substituted.

Salary range: $15-20/hour, Open until filled
